Visit to museums and art exhibitions in Malaga. Academic year 2024-25

On February 7, students from the 1st and 2nd years of Baccalaureate of Arts and Image and Sound have made a very interesting visit to Museums and exhibitions in Malaga.

This artistic and cultural activity, which contributes to critical thinking and promotes artistic sensitivity, has been organized by the Department of Arts in order to foster creativity in students.

We started the day by visiting the La Malagueta Cultural Centre to admire the “Retrospective” exhibition by Inge Morath, one of the most renowned photographers of the Magnum Agency.
The students in attendance were able to admire more than one hundred photographs of this artist, her most iconic works and other lesser-known works in colour, all of them a testimony to reality and to her many trips around the world, including the famous photographs of Marilyn Monroe.

The outing continued with the exhibition “Sorolla in Andalusia”, where the students were able to appreciate the characteristic light and colour of the Valencian artist. In addition, in “Zurbarán. Saints”, they analysed the representation of female sanctity and the sobriety of the Baroque style.

Finally, they toured the permanent exhibition at the Carmen Thyssen Museum, which allowed them to connect with different styles and movements of Spanish art, admiring authors such as Julio Romero de Torres, Zurbarán, Mariano Fortuny, José Benlliure, Raimundo de Madrazo, Soroya Zuloaga, among other artists, contributing to a truly enriching experience.
