"One of the main objectives of education should be to expand the windows through which we see the world.”. (Arnold H. Glasow)
Alboran School is committed to bring state of the art technological and human resources to serve the emerging needs of this 21st century. Our greatest ambition is to create proactive students, who ask questions and develop their own hypotheses about how the world works. This implies the generation of mental operations and practical procedures that allow them to continue learning on their own, throughout their school years and after them. Ultimately, we seek the acquisition of skills and the comprehensive training of our students as active members of a society.
From the purely instrumental and technological point of view technological, our commitment to using technology to facilitate our students' learning and to encourage responsible use of devices was clear, through the 1:1 model (one iPad per student) from the 4th grade of Primary School to the 2nd year of High School, or the one-to-many option for lower grades, sharing iPads from different carts.
Above the technical resources that we have, the success of this project, however, is based on the application of inductive methodologies that are more adapted to the mobile learning. Such methodologies require specific and ongoing teacher training. They are methodologies that focus learning on our students, such as problem-based learning, challenges or projects, flipped classroom, cooperative learning, learning by teaching, gamification, the use of rubrics or assessment targets, etc. The methodological development is accompanied by evaluation strategies that are perfectly adapted to these working methods, based on the fact that the students are most involved in the teaching-learning process, and that is that they are aware of what they are going to be evaluated.
It is a fact that the world around us is constantly changing, which is why it is essential that our Institution adapts to provide our students with the best educational quality, which is why our teachers actively participate in an internal forum that aims to analyze trends and needs, betting on a model of continuous training to allow our students to acquire the fundamental skills and abilities (soft skills), those that have to do with the global world, such as digital literacy, teamwork, critical thinking, communication, emotional intelligence, problem-solving and all those necessary for their subsequent adaptation to their professional career. acquire fundamental skills and abilities (soft skills), those that have to do with the global world, such as digital literacy, teamwork, critical thinking, communication, emotional intelligence, problem solving and all those necessary for their subsequent adaptation to the world of work.
