Bancosol talk. 2018-19

Our Baccalaureate students are going to collaborate in the large food collection initiative that Bancosol (Food Bank of the Costa del Sol) will organize for November 30 and December 1. For this reason, one of his volunteers, Mr. Salvador Gutiérrez, gave an interesting presentation yesterday with our students.

 During the meeting at our school, D. Salvador knew how to open our eyes to the problem of poverty, not only in the world, but especially in our closest environment, encouraging the youngest to show solidarity with those most in need and explaining the Qualities that volunteers should have. In his talk, in which he involved everyone, he explained the help they provide and their collaboration through distribution and consumer associations.

Since 2008 the number of people asking for help from Food Banks has doubled. That is why the main objectives pursued by this campaign are twofold: on the one hand, to raise awareness among the population about the current reality of poverty in Malaga and its province, and on the other, to collect at least as many kilos as the previous year, 530.000 kg. ., especially non-perishable foods, such as legumes, milk, oil, preserves and baby food.

We want to thank our guest for his presence, and the opportunity that this association gives us to participate in this solidarity event, at a national level, so enriching in values ​​for our young people and so necessary in our society.
