Dune conservation. Produce Marbella. 2022-23

The Alborán School is pleased to announce that we have resumed the conservation project of our punished dune ecosystem, an activity that was unfortunately put on hold due to the pandemic.
Through it we try to raise awareness of the need to take care of the environment in general and, in particular, the dune complex that the College has sponsored in the coastal section of El Barronal thanks to the much-needed work that we have been carrying out with the ProDunas Association Marbella.
Part of the day consists of a guided visit with a biologist who explains in situ the natural wealth of these spaces, and the serious risk they run as a result of human activity. Another part consists of the work of caring for and cleaning our coastal stretch of waste and invasive plant species.
We consider it essential that students become aware of the fragility of the environment and the need to educate and transmit respect for the environment to future generations, both for the very conservation of the wealth of our natural heritage and for emphasizing that the quality of our beaches constitutes the main source of income for the city and, therefore, its main tourist attraction, and that it is in our hands that it continues to be so.
The solution is always in education.
