Literary meeting with Antonio Gómez Yebra. 2024-25
The Department of Language and Literature at Colegio Alborán carries out numerous activities throughout the school year to encourage reading, including Literary Meetings with writers who help to promote a love of reading from a very early age.
As part of our Reading Project and in collaboration with the publishing house Anaya, on March 6th Antonio Gómez Yebra, one of the most prestigious authors of Children's and Young Adult Literature, visited our center to share literary experiences with students from the first two and last three years of Primary and 1st year of Secondary school.
This time he spoke to us about Gloria Fuertes (how he met her and her literary career), focusing on her book “Gloria Fuertes para todos” and on one of our young readers’ favourite books: “Animal Riddles”.
All the students enjoyed and showed great interest in his riddles (he has invented two thousand riddles spread over sixteen books)
Our students have actively participated and have conveyed to the prolific writer their doubts and concerns related to the book “The Princess’s Curse” (explaining the literary allusions to the folk tale Puss in Boots and mythology) and to literature in general.
It is always an honour for our school to welcome this writer, who has been a professor and a Lecturer at the UMA, who stands out for his numerous works in prose and verse aimed at children and young people and who knows how to transmit his love of books in every meeting.
