Theatrical performance “The House of Bernarda Alba”. 2024-25 academic year

Through the Department of Language and Literature, the high school students of our center attended the theatrical performance of the play "La casa de Bernarda Alba", the latest dramatic work by Federico García Lorca, on February 10 at the Gonzalo Martín Tenllado Music Conservatory in Malaga.
This interesting activity helps to bring students closer to Federico García Lorca, one of the great authors of Spanish literature and a reference in universal literature, a novelist, poet and playwright of the Generation of '27, in a fun way.
By attending this work we aim to promote the critical spirit of our students and use strategies that favor reading comprehension, in addition to promoting the development of their imagination and creativity.
Our students have enjoyed many of the concepts that are worked on in the classroom in this work performed all over the world, the culmination of Lorca's theatre, which fuses realism and poetic rigor.
It has been a fantastic adaptation and a wonderful staging of this symbolic tragic and rural drama that presents such important themes as the opposition between authority and freedom or the conflict between desire and reality, without forgetting the role of women and social criticism.
In the end, the students who attended actively participated in the discussion after the performance, expressing their doubts to the actresses.
