Visit IFAP. 2014-15

On March 9, the students of 4th ESO, 1st and 2nd Baccalaureate who are studying Biology made a visit to the IFAPA agricultural research center (specialized in the cultivation of avocados and strawberries), where, among other activities, they were able to visit the facilities and actively participate in:

• Tissue culture laboratory (in-vitro fertilization).
• Laboratory where work is done against the fungus that currently affects avocados.
• Micropropagation greenhouse.
• Strawberry germplasm bank (500 species).
• Entomology laboratory (insects).

This interesting activity, organized by the Department of Sciences, was stimulating for our students who learned first-hand what work is like in this type of center.
