Yayoi Kusama. International Museum Day. 2020-21

Today, May 18, we commemorate World Museum Day.
Art is a language of expression that brings many benefits. For this reason, at Colegio Alborán we try to offer our boys and girls all those artistic experiences that help them grow with good all-round development.
Yayoi Kusama is a very interesting Japanese artist to introduce children to contemporary art. Her projects are based on the use of points. Points taken to the limit, to infinity. We thought it was great!
One of his works turns completely white spaces with useless furniture, hence the name "Annulment Room" into magnificent works of art where you can interact and participate in creation. Starting from this idea, we have organized a small corner, flooded with points, where the little ones have been integrated into the work. And they've had a great time!
Likewise, the artist also uses organic and lunar shapes in her sculptures. Following this idea, our students have also developed their own creations in class, using pumpkins and other elements.
Another spectacle to behold is its “Infinity mirror rooms”. Create, in closed rooms lined with mirrors, optical illusions with infinite sensations. Objects that expand in space. A brilliant and amazing job that we wanted to recreate with fluorine.
Stimulating creativity and the senses thanks to the work of this original creator.
