In addition, our Department has carried out an activity around Don Quixote, based on different episodes, the students have given a personal touch to this literary work with new technologies.

They have produced three other videos with different degrees of approximation to the original text of Don Quixote.

  • 1º video: About the famous TVE series D. Quixote and Sancho are played by the great actors Fernando Rey and Alfredo Landa, the students have done the dubbing and editing of the video selecting the most representative parts. In this chapter, the burning of books of chivalry, causing madness by the relatives of the famous hidalgo, takes place.
  • 2º video: In this case, the TVE cartoon series «D. Quixote de la Mancha», from 1979, has been the basis for dealing with the chapter in which our protagonist has his encounter with the windmills. In this case, they have adapted different voices to give them a touch of humor, that is, they have accentuated one of the main intentions with which our brilliant Cervantes made his work, to amuse.
  • 3º video: This team has interpreted a cartoon series called “Bandolero” in a much more free way, where they have dubbed Don Quixote with Juan Palomo and Sancho Panza with Tragabuches. Here, Don Quixote, how could it be otherwise, saves a lady from the invading French soldiers.

The protagonists explained to the ESO and Baccalaureate students what their work had consisted of. They have found it fun and a novel way of approaching this wonderful jewel of our Literature.

The best way to commemorate World Book Day is with an interesting literary gathering. This is how we understand it in the Department of Language and Literature, which we organize to promote a taste for reading.
In this activity to encourage reading, the children's and youth literature writer Doña Carmen Ramos encouraged young people to read and write. She told us about her works and the work of writers today, stressing that "stories and many games are created with words."
Likewise, he highlighted the importance of the titles in the works, since "they are the showcase of the book."

All the students attending, both Primary and Secondary, participated with great motivation in a day divided into two days in which there was time to clarify doubts, questions and answers. Everyone, and first of all, the writer and storyteller from Malaga, enjoyed this literary encounter.

In a pleasant way, the meeting was very relaxed and adapted to the age of each group that made up the session. For her, it is essential to enjoy learning.
Likewise, she encouraged sharing literary experiences and writing, as well as reading, because as she affirms "if I had not read books, the ones that correspond to each age, I would not have imagined and written so many stories". She recounted that she owes the awakening of her enthusiasm for reading to many authors, especially Bécquer, who influenced her first poems.
He carried out activities to promote reading through rhymes, verses, laughter, songs, games and stories.

Doña Carmen fostered a magnificent reading environment and conveyed to the students the idea of traveling through time through books, to free their imagination. During her meeting, she presented the prizes for the 4th grade Primary Story Contest and gave us all poems and didactic material.
We highly value this visit by Carmen Ramos, as well as her ongoing work to bring Literature closer to minors and young people and to offer them the opportunity to discover the pleasure of reading. Read more
