The Universal Concept of Mental Arithmetic System (UCMAS) is a modern representation of the ancient art of mental arithmetic. An intellectual development program designed to stimulate fuller use of the brain, especially the right hemisphere. UCMAS helps to develop concentration, visual and auditory memory, self-confidence, creativity and, ultimately, the basic skills necessary to be able to face any challenge that requires mental effort.
Who is it geared towards?
UCMAS is a mental calculation program aimed at boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 13, an interval in which it has been shown that their ability to learn and acquire skills is greater.
Visible results
- Speed and precision in arithmetic operations
- concentration and attention
- Listening ability
- Observation skills
- Visual memory and spatial orientation
- Imagination and creativity
- Analytical skills
- Learn to learn
- Self-confidence
- What is?
Through mental calculation and using the abacus as a learning tool, students move from the physical to the abstract world; At first they learn to use the 34 UCMAS formulas (in various arithmetic operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) on the physical abacus.
But from the first levels, a process of independence from said abacus begins and the acquired knowledge is transferred to a MENTAL (imaginary) abacus. In the course of this action, we contribute to the achievement of the different proposed objectives and the benefits that learning the method entails.
Services
The UCMAS educational project contributes to avoiding school failure, ensuring academic success in the transition from primary to secondary and training students for lifelong training.
They are motivated by promoting communication and good relationships, performing group tasks. They are constantly told to take mistakes as new learning moments. At UCMAS, we do not cross out mistakes, we always try to give a positive vision by putting a circle. Thus, the teacher has a record of the formula in which they are failing and the student in turn is left with a more pleasant and satisfactory feeling.
However, an effort is required to obtain the different benefits that make up the method in daily practice. The students are improving in the different academic areas and consequently the motivation accompanies them throughout the development of the program and will continue throughout their entire school stage.
advantage for students
UCMAS increases accuracy and speed, as well as improving memory. It helps to increase the ability of learning, writing, logic, analysis and research. Stimulates concentration as well as comprehension. Helps develop imagination, improve child's academic performance and prepare children for competition.
Improve visual memory, self-confidence and reduce learning time. It stimulates the sense of hearing, as well as gives you the necessary security to compete on a world scale. Increases the child's attention and helps him manage stress.
