On December 17, the Colegio Alborán hosted a very interesting conference by the artist Javier Martín.

This contemporary artist, who has exhibited in China, South Korea, the United States, France, Germany, Panama, Peru and Spain, invited our young students to think for themselves, to always reflect, not to fall into "blindness". social. Likewise, he encouraged not to give up or surrender in the face of adversity. Especially interesting was the desire to excel that she was able to transmit.

At all times he urged the students not to forget their dreams, because "a dream that we have as a child can change your life and that of others."

His projects combine painting, architecture, sculpture and photography, expanding the idea that Art is much more than a technique to paint or sculpt: it is to Communicate. Through his original and committed works we learned to take care of the environment, to reflect on our origins, on consumption and many other current issues.

He took us by the hand on a journey in which, through the mirror, the viewer learns to think more about others and not so much about themselves, and thus "we never forget the interior", as the artist affirms.

And it is that in the words of Javier Martín “with Art we can change the world, transform ourselves and society, transmit our feelings and above all, communicate".

All the attendees really enjoyed this highly artistic meeting and asked questions related to his techniques, exhibitions and career, which was absolutely enriching.

Within the educational activities of the Alborán School, on November 26, the students of the 1st and 2nd Baccalaureate of Art made a cultural visit to different exhibitions in Malaga, with the teachers in charge of said activity. The main objective of this excursion was for our students to directly experience the various artistic manifestations.

We start the morning visiting the Pompidou Center in Malaga. There our students took a guided tour of the temporary exhibition “They are modern, they are photographers”. Through 150 photographs, they appreciated the art of twenty important female photographers from the 20s and 30s. An interesting and attractive exhibition that captivated our students, who became involved with each of the images.

Next, and after a tour of the streets of Malaga, we went to the Carmen Thyssen Museum to see the exhibition "Artist Posters. From Toulouse-Lautrec to Jeff Koons”. A journey through the posters of the 70th and XNUMXst centuries through XNUMX works by art masters such as Toulouse-Lautrec, Picasso, Dalí, Matisse, Miró or Warhol, among others.

In short, a morning in which our most creative students enjoyed what inspires them the most, to in turn complement their training in modality subjects in the Arts Baccalaureate.
