On January 26, the students of the 1st and 2nd year of the Art and Humanities Baccalaureate, through the subjects of History of Art and Image and Sound, made an excursion with their teachers to the Art Centers and Museums of Malaga .

We begin the artistic-cultural journey by attending the Center Pompidou Málaga. There, and thanks to the guided tour carried out by the Museum's Mediation Department, we took a tour of the permanent exhibition of contemporary art that includes works from the XNUMXth and XNUMXst centuries. We also had the opportunity to see the temporary exhibition “From the city to the museum: Parisian architectures 1945-2015” which includes drawings, architectural elements, models and photographs of the most emblematic buildings in Paris.

After this visit, we headed for the Collection of the Russian Museum in Saint Petersburg, where we take a tour of the exhibition "The four Seasons" of Russian art. An impressive exhibition that includes more than 80 pieces of art from the XNUMXth to the XNUMXth centuries with renowned authors such as Shishkin. As part of the visit, we were also able to see the temporary exhibitions “Chagall and his Russian contemporaries” y “Cervantes in Russian art” which are about to end.

The star visit of the day was the exhibition of Mark Ryden in the CAC (Málaga Contemporary Art Center). One of the first retrospectives of this painter, classified as an icon and father of contemporary Pop Surrealism. Witnessing his works live made our students aware that we are dealing with a great and virtuous painter, and that despite being controversial, manages to immerse us in a dreamlike, imaginary and critical world full of symbolism.

An inspiring and motivating day, which allows our young students to broaden their knowledge and experience in the fields in which we work daily, art and image culture. An experience, that year after year and from the Art Baccalaureate, we will repeat, because without a doubt, it is totally enriching for everyone.
