Informative talk from the Spanish Association Against Cancer. 2023-24

Within the activities of our Solidarity Project, today we received a visit from Beatriz Roldán and Kiko Sánchez, Psychologist and Volunteer on the Board of Directors of the Spanish Association Against Cancer.

This interesting day, in which the 5th and 6th grades of Primary and the entire Secondary School participated, was inaugurated with some words of awareness from our Director, Mr. José Luis González, who encouraged solidarity, highlighting the importance of “being good people".

Next, our guests, who are also parents of students at the school, offered an enriching and enjoyable talk in which they explained the workshops and activities carried out by this association, which has been fighting the disease for seventy years from all its branches. lines of action: paying for treatment for people without resources, creating cancer centers and starting detection programs.

In addition, Beatriz and Kiko have emphasized prevention, early detection and offered advice to prevent cancer through a healthy life. In a relaxed way, they have also pointed out the specific programs and outreach campaigns they carry out, encouraging people to be altruistic, since many people need that encouragement and help.

Likewise, they explained to the attendees that, thanks to all the people who volunteer, they promote research while accompanying and caring for the entire process of the disease and in palliative care.

During this event, the 1st year #ESO students of the Alborán School presented the money raised in the Christmas basket during the breakfast and solidarity markets in December: 545 euros. During the event, this group of students clarified how the raffle was carried out and thanked everyone who collaborated with this very supportive initiative.

A day of reflection in which the Spanish Association Against Cancer has illustrated the need to alleviate and avoid the suffering caused by cancer (the most important disease in the world) in people and reduce the impact caused, also contributing, possible ways in which minors and young people can collaborate to improve the lives of others.

We want to thank Beatriz and Kiko for the time and effort they have dedicated to this enriching activity for our students.

Thank you!💚
