Cycle Spain 40 years of History. 2018-19

The Department of Geography and History of the Colegio Alborán has had the honor of being able to attend the conferences organized by the Marbella Town Hall with its 2nd year Baccalaureate students.

It has been an edifying opportunity to foster a critical spirit and knowledge of the History of Spain of the last 40 years at the hands of personalities such as: Esther del Campo (Dean of Political Sciences of the Complutense University), Juan Pablo Fusi (member of the Royal Academy of of History), John H. Elliott (professor at Oxford University and internationally renowned historian).

October 25 has been a particularly interesting day due to the presentation by John Elliot on the crises of Scottish and Catalan nationalism, the "multiple monarchies", who has provided us with his expert vision of the origins and possible solutions to problems of the present that sink their roots in the past.
We would like to express our special thanks to the Director of Culture and Education of Marbella Ms. Carmen Díaz for organizing this cycle that contributes so much to the city and its students.

We hope to continue attending the Hospital Real de la Misericordia Cultural Center in Marbella with our Baccalaureate students and learning the upcoming talks that will take place during October and November and that promise to be as current as they are enriching.
