Decalogue of healthy habits. 2019-20

Dear families,

As you know, this situation is going to last, for now, for a similar period. That is why, in prolonged and atypical circumstances like this, we must take care of some aspects of our day to day, in order to maintain a healthy intellectual, physical and mental activity.
Due to this, from the Alborán School we want to transfer to our students some recommendations in the form of a decalogue, guidelines that can be applied to the rest of the family to enjoy a pleasant and productive model of coexistence. Let's help put them into practice among all:

1. Rest well and get up every morning, wash up, have breakfast and dress in comfortable clothes to work, but not in pajamas.

2. Keep the workplace well organized and litLet natural light invade the room if possible.

3. Be punctual and respect the school schedule.

4. Rest and stretch your legs between sessions. Take the fresh air if you have a terrace or garden.

5. Do not have your mobile phone on, television, or devices that can reduce concentration while you work. Think that later you will have time for it.

6. Eat a healthy diet and avoid foods saturated with unnecessary fats and sugars as much as possible. Trade them for pieces of fruit.

7. Perform physical exercise. Preferably at the end of each day, but if it is not feasible, at least three times a week. Follow the advice of the Department of Physical Education or tutorials that channels like YouTube make available to us.

8. Take advantage of these dates to encourage the habit of reading, preferably in paper format, to counteract exposure to screens. An example is more powerful than a hundred tips. Do it, and they will imitate you.

9. Keep a positive spirit and value the advantages of this situation: Talk to your family, tell them what you have done today, think about how lucky we are, about everything we have and learn to value it.

10. Have fun and enjoy your leisure time. Entertain yourself by watching interesting movies, listen to music, dance, practice or learn to play an instrument, use video games rationally... Keep in touch with your friends. Fortunately we have tools for everything at our fingertips.

This situation will pass, it is in our power to take the positive side while it lasts, because it has it. Everything has it. Much encouragement.

Sincerely,

Dear families,

As you must already know, the present situation is going to last two weeks longer. Therefore, we must pay more attention to our daily routine, to maintain a healthy intellectual, physical, and psychological activity.

From all of us, we would like to provide the students with recommendations, which can apply to the whole family, for a better harmony and more productive home. Let's all put them to work!!

1. Have a good night's sleep and get up every day, take a shower, have breakfast and get dressed in comfortable clothing, don't wear your pajamas.

2. Keep your working area clean, tidy and well lit, if at all possible, with natural light.

3. Be on time and follow the schooling schedule.

4. Rest and stretch your legs between lectures. Go out to a balcony or garden if possible.

5. Do not have your mobile phone on or any other devices, nor the TV while you are working as they are very distracting. You can enjoy them later!!

6. Keep a healthy diet and avoid sugary and fatty foods, have a piece of fruit instead.

7. Do some type of physical activity. Ideally at the end of the school session but, if that's not possible, at least three times a week. Follow the guidance of the PE Department or some tutorial from YouTube or other similar channels.

8. Take advantage at this time to increase your reading habits, rather on paper than on mobile devices, to minimize time spent on screens. As parents, "lead by example"!!!

9. Maintain a positive attitude and value the advantages of the present situation: spend quality time with the family, talk about what you do, think about how fortunate we are with everything we have and learn to appreciate it all.

10. Enjoy your free time!!!! Watch good movies, listen to music, dance, practice or learn to play an instrument, play video games in moderation…… Keep in touch with your friends. We are very lucky to have plenty of ways and tools to do all that!!!!

Remember, this situation will pass, and it is in our hands to make the most of it and learn a lot from it, because it has a lot to teach us, everything does. STAY POSITIVE!!

Best Regards,
