Literary meeting with Mrs. Begoña Oro Pradera. 2017-18.

"Finally I can be what I am, and I am a writer."

In order to promote reading, Colegio Alborán, in coordination with SM Editorial, has developed this interesting activity to encourage and promote reading.

Within the Reading Project of the Department of Language and Literature, the literary meetings try to whet the literary appetite of our young Secondary School students.
Thus, on February 16th, Doña Begoña Oro - writer specializing in Children's and Youth Literature, translator, editor, who also writes for adults - visited our center to bring students closer to the universe of books.

He encouraged young people to create a reading habit and to enjoy more artistic creations in general. Likewise, he highlighted the value of illustrations in books and surprised everyone with his suitcase, from which ideas and resources emerged.

The writer showed the literary enjoyment through two of her works read in class "Croquettes and wasaps" and "Grapefruit and lemon", the latter winner of the Gran Angular and Hache Awards.
Doña Begoña Oro cited the innumerable benefits of reading, while addressing the issue of the language of social networks, warning young people against the lack of privacy, a topic closely related to the theme of her book.

He explained that he has realized that "reading can change the world", and since then, he wants to tell his own stories, since "we are all capable of telling our own story. It's our superpower."

In a relaxed and very participatory atmosphere, and with practical examples, he explained that the story changes according to the words it contains, which gave rise to talk about the different narrative perspectives, the types of narrator, the typical structure of the narration and the new non-linear ways of narrating.

It turned out to be a totally enriching activity in which attendees enjoyed and learned to value the importance of the work of writers today.
