On April 6, a long-awaited visit took place at our school: we had the pleasure of receiving Mr. Antonio A. Gómez Yebra, prestigious author of Children's and Youth Literature, to share a stimulating activity to encourage reading that he intended commemorate World Children's Book Day celebrated on April 2.
This literary meeting has been organized by the Department of Language and Literature of the Alborán School in collaboration with the Anaya publishing house, in order to promote a love of reading from an early age.
The UMA professor, who has won many prizes and awards, shared with the students of the first cycle of Primary the literary experiences of his book "El Quitamanchas", a work read by our students and worked on in class.
The writer, who stands out as a novelist and poet, with an abundant body of work (two hundred books) aimed at minors and young people and who also has numerous poetic, theatrical and narrative titles aimed at adult readers, knew how to capture the attention of all attendees .
All attendees participated and showed great interest, conveying their concerns to this prolific writer and UMA Professor who has published 97 children's books and will publish his 98th book for minors on Book Day.
In addition to answering their questions, it was he who asked questions to the little ones who, smiling, answered without hesitation.
In a very close encounter, Don Antonio was able to convey the fun and knowledge that reading brings, pointing out that books are used to learn and dream.
This interesting activity, which combined prose, recitation of poems, riddles and even anecdotes, was very interesting.
Finally, he signed copies of his book and gave away some of his poems and riddles.
