"You have to know how to enjoy the little things, which are often the most important"

1 – Amanda: I have heard you say once, that as a child you were a naughty girl. Tell us an anecdote from your childhood.
Marta: (laughs) – I have broken my lip, I broke a fence in the patio of my house, it fell on my head and I made a gap from side to side. (Thinking) Many things have happened to me, because indeed, she was naughty, but she was not a bad girl.

2 – Bianca: What do you like the most about teaching?
Marta: – I really like teaching, teaching every day and especially what you have to learn and train to teach once you finish your degree. Without a doubt, what I like the most is what is learned from the students, which is also very important.

3 – Roxy: Have you always dedicated yourself to teaching? What other jobs have you had?
Marta: – I have always dedicated myself to teaching, even while I was studying the degree I have given private classes.

4 – Amanda: What has been the best experience you've had at work?
Marta: -I would tell you that I have not had any bad experience, with which, I cannot choose exactly the best. Every day I experience good experiences. There is always something good.

5 – Bianca: How many years have you been at Colegio Alborán? Have you ever been a tutor?
Marta: – I have been working here for 26 years. Yes, I have been a tutor for many years and it is an enriching experience. The group you are a tutor for is very special to me, you create a great bond with them.

6 – Roxy: What does it feel like when your students leave for university, after having seen them grow?
Marta: A great satisfaction (smiling), the best thing is when they come to visit, the joy is immense. We love to see them and we remember all of them.

7 – Amanda: Have you always lived in Malaga?
Marta: – Not always, when I was little, when my father was assigned to the Canary Islands because he was in the military, I lived in León for a year with my grandparents.

8 – Bianca: Why did you choose Science instead of another branch?
Marta: – I have always liked biology. Well, I liked plants, so I did Biology in the Botany branch. I loved it and I was also very good at it.

9 – Roxy: What motivates you to come to school every day?
Marta: – EVERYTHING, in capital letters. The motivation for this type of work is fundamental, I really enjoy teaching, although "there are times that it would kill you". (Laughter), I think that parents also say that from time to time...
I think you have to know how to enjoy the little things, which are often the most important.

10 – Amanda: We know that you were the Technical Director of the school a few years ago. What experience would you highlight?
Marta: – (thoughtful) Well, I would point out that it is a position with a lot of responsibility and a bit stressful, the truth is, in those years I was also very comfortable. I learned a lot and got fully involved in all the projects, just like the Management we have today.
