Excursion to Antequera. 5th of Primary Education. 2019-20

Last Tuesday, October 8, the class of 5th grade of Primary Education traveled to the city of Antequera to study its heritage and monumental environment. Following the school activities program of the center "Education and culture outside the classroom”, our students have been able to recreate themselves with the prehistoric dolmen complex of this city, which includes the Menga and Viera dolmens, which have recently been named World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. In addition, they have been able to enjoy visiting the Municipal Archaeological Museum, the Collegiate Church of Santa María la Mayor and the Arab-medieval fortress-castle, as well as the historical and monumental center of this ancient city.

The day concluded with a brief excursion to the surroundings of the natural park and karstic complex of the Sierra de «the Torcal”. There, we have taken advantage of this incomparable setting to make our students see the importance of conservation and care for the natural environment for everyone.

An exciting day!
