Literary Conference for Teachers in Seville

On January 30, a cycle of conferences for teachers took place in Seville, the purpose of which is to acquire tools to encourage reading and develop creative writing among young people.

60 Andalusian teachers participated in them and has served to discuss the importance of reading and the keys to train young readers.

Among them, the Colegio Alborán was present and actively participated in the workshops organized by the Escuela de Escritura Creativa Función Lenguaje.

Doña Elvira Lindo, a prestigious writer and journalist, gave an interesting master class under the title: "Reading and how to get the necessary slow time for it", to inaugurate these Literary Conferences that have been organized by the Coca-Cola Foundation.

The creator of the popular character Manolito Gafotas shared with all the attendees how her vocation came to her and the idea of devoting herself professionally to writing arose, at the same time that she gave us her ideas for improvement so that young people love books, "it is necessary a true approach to language in schools”.

Mrs. Elvira Lindo pointed out that by promoting education we bring young people closer to reading, since it is reading that provides ease of concentration, which is losing our days. “We must continue to believe in the power of books,” she said.

It is really a necessity to discover and promote the talent of young people. For this, the teachers received tools and resources to work in the classroom. Likewise, it turned out to be a space to share concerns and teaching experiences, explore the creativity of teachers and students.

Likewise, recommendations for activities to work on reading in the classroom were addressed, as well as debates that were enriching for everyone.

We are already looking forward to March 17, the day our students will participate in the 58th edition of the Young Short Story Talent Contest.
