Markets and Solidarity Breakfast, Christmas 2022-23

Through our Solidarity Project we want to promote and raise awareness among our students of a true Education in values.
That is why in these pre-Christmas festivities, coinciding with our characteristic living Nativity scene and with the celebration of the Christmas Carol Contest, the Solidarity Breakfast based on homemade sweets and desserts with the objective of helping the Ronda Nursing Home (Little Sisters of the Poor).

Thanks to the altruistic collaboration of all the participants in these two solidarity days, December 22 and 23, we are going to give them the amount of €850,05, which joins the delivery of food and products that have been so generously donated in this week for our students, their families and the center staff.

This year we wanted to support the highly commendable work carried out by Open Arms Malawi, an NGO dedicated to offering solutions. From their five family homes in Blantyre, they finance college and vocational education for a group of about 35 boys and girls and have 10 nurseries that educate more than 500 children every day. Additionally, through Tiwona, they educate 50 orphan girls in boarding schools in an educational institution. With the sale of handicrafts made by the students and the teaching team of our center, we have donated €475 that are used to finance the cost of a full year of education for two girls and a small fund for teaching materials.

We have also had the collaboration of the NGO Manos Unidas, which has set up a charity stall with typical Christmas crafts and handicrafts to help those most in need with their excellent work.

Finally, we want to highlight that the Fundatul association has also been present. This organization, with which the Colegio Alborán regularly collaborates, tries to tutor, protect and train people with disabilities. Along with the amount obtained through the sale of their products, the center has donated the collection corresponding to the raffle for some sweets, which has amounted to €100.

We want to thank all the families of Alborán for their altruistic participation and involvement in all these humanitarian initiatives.

Thank you all so much and happy holidays!
