Virtual literary meeting with Míriam Teruel Benítez. 2021-22

The Alborán School, through the Department of Language, has developed a stimulating activity to encourage reading, on this virtual occasion, to commemorate Book Day, with Míriam Teruel Benítez, a writer, teacher and librarian born in Málaga and based in Castillejar, Granada.
The graduate in Hispanic Philology and tireless reader, has shared with the students of Secondary and Baccalaureate experiences about her first book "Los sueños de Yumma", a book read by our students.
Likewise, he has announced what will be his next work, a continuation of the first one at the request of many readers, "El corazón de Najma", which will soon be published.
Both the characters and the narrative structure of this work, which does not leave readers indifferent, have attracted our students, especially the inclusion of stories of great poetic and symbolic value and African proverbs that greatly enliven reading.
It has been a very interesting pedagogical activity in which he answered all the questions that we had previously asked him about this work that invites reflection, while entertaining and dealing with current issues in any society.
Míriam has explained in her video some of the themes she addresses in her first work, such as rejection of violence, caring for animals and the environment, and friendship that knows no borders.
In short, it has been an enriching meeting from the literary point of view and the transmission of values of equality and tolerance, since "Yumma's dreams" represents a metaphorical journey to achieve our aspirations.
