March 21, World Poetry Day. 2021-22.

The World Poetry Day proclaimed by UNESCO is celebrated on the spring equinox with the main objective of consecrating the essential word and reflection on our time. This Day is also called Spring of the poets.
In the Language Department of the Alborán School we have contributed to celebrating this Day by carrying out poetic acts and celebrations with the Secondary students.

At the entrance to the center, the projects developed to awaken poetic sensibility and educate literary creativity are exhibited.

We have developed poetry recitals and multiple readings, in which a group of 3rd year ESO students have visited the classrooms of the last cycle of Primary Education and their Secondary classmates to declaim beautiful and varied poems of their own creation.

In addition, our second-year high school students Paula, Alexia and Cristina and, in another group, Claudia and Victoria have made a video with one of the best-known poems by Luis Cernuda that has impacted them the most, "I love you".

We know that poetry contributes to this creative diversity by questioning in an ever renewed way the way words are used, our ways of perceiving and interpreting reality.
As Tagore affirms “Poetry is the echo of the melody of the universe in the hearts of humans”.

We encourage you to reflect on the capacity and power of poetic language to convey emotions and suggest feelings, because "There may not be poets but there will always be poetry" (Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer).
