November 25: International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. 2023-24.

The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women has been commemorated in our center with the purpose of showing our rejection of any type of violence and specifically the most widespread in the world.

We begin the day by reading our institutional commitment and keeping a minute of silence as a sign of respect for the victims.

Next, the awards ceremony for the Poetry and Short Story Contest on gender violence and possible solutions to eradicate it took place.
The students who have won these awards have been:
1 ESO cycle
Poetry mode:
First Prize: Rocío Gonzalo Aguilar, for “I'm afraid.”
Second Prize: Maia López Cano, for “A change of attitude”.
Third Prize: Olivia Barreiro, with “The woman in the eyes of the people”.
Finalist: Ana Patricia García García, with “Igualdad”.
Micro-story mode:
First Prize: Gabriela del Valle Vandenberg, for “That afternoon”.
2 ESO cycle
Poetry mode:
First Prize: Sofía Chimuris, for “Time to ask for forgiveness.”
Baccalaureate
Micro-story mode:
First Prize: Sofía Cabello Lara, with the story “A bandage that traps you.”
Poetry mode:
First Prize: Nathalia Paulet, with “Two minutes”.
Second Prize: Hugo Díaz Aguilar, for “Busca”.
Third Prize: Alejandro Rodríguez Pérez, for “Morado stainado”.
Finalist: Teresa Cerviño Tejón for “Our day, our right.”

Likewise, in the classrooms we have held debates, poetry recitals and project exhibitions with the aim of raising awareness among the entire educational community about the need for equality between men and women.

Our Baccalaureate of Arts students, in the subject Audiovisual Culture, have created for this day a poster with a phrase from Frida Kahlo, (“I fell in love with your wings, I will never want to cut them”) also including three butterflies as a tribute to the Mirabal Sisters.

Likewise, Elena and Alba from 1st year of Baccalaureate have made a video that aims to raise awareness about the need to commemorate the Day against the elimination of violence against women, showing young people the importance of respect and freedom both in love and in the friendship.

For their part, Julia, Sofía, Alejandro, Minerva and Lucía, from 2nd year of Baccalaureate, have made a video against gender violence in order to make this reality visible in order to help the victims.

In Secondary our students have carried out various projects to raise awareness and reflect on this social problem.
