Visit IFAP. 2018-19
The Biology students of the 4th year ESO, 1 and 2 Undergraduate Degrees from Colegio Alborán has attended the Research Center Ifapa de Churriana (Málaga), where he has been able to verify in situ various scientific procedures applied to quality control and improvement of plant species for human consumption. In addition to receiving interesting talks from biologists, geneticists, entomologists, biochemists or microbiologists, they have been able to visit the laboratories and facilities of the Center, where they asked related questions, including carrying out activities such as isolating DNA from a strawberry for the subsequent monitoring of certain markers.
Given the signs of interest shown, it would not be surprising that some of the attendees have glimpsed a new horizon in their professional future. What is clear is that in our country Science needs greater dissemination, which allows citizens to learn about the work of our scientists, that was perhaps the main objective of an excursion in which, we must say, the behavior of our boys and girls it has been exquisite.
