Activities of our Solidarity Project. 2014-15

First trimester.

October and November.

We will collaborate with the Human Being Association. This association was born in 2010 with the main objective of providing coverage for such a basic and elementary need as food. It currently maintains two dining rooms: in Marbella and Estepona, where they feed more than 400 people daily.
This year this association is also carrying out a campaign to collect food for breakfasts and snacks (cocoa, biscuits, milk, etc.) to offer them to more than 200 children from disadvantaged families in San Pedro and Marbella. And it is in this project where we are going to get involved.

December.

As every year, at the end of the first quarter we will collect food for the Ronda Nursing Home. There are currently 80 residents living in it and it is run by the Little Sisters of the Poor. Said Congregation, following the example of its founder Juana Jugan, intends to bring the gift of welcome and hospitality to the poorest and, specifically, to the elderly.

The food that they request from us are basic products such as: coffee, sugar and milk.
Likewise, they request a contribution of money to be able to cover the heating.
To do this, in addition to collecting food, students and their families will bring cakes and cakes made by them and sold on the day of the representation of the Living Nativity Scene.

Second trimester

January.

This quarter we have signed a commitment to collaborate with the Marbella Voluntary Association. Said organization, created in 2003, is a non-profit association whose purpose is the promotion and development of Volunteer Programs, mainly of a social nature, by its associates in Marbella and San Pedro Alcántara.
As a result of this commitment, the young people of the Baccalaureate of our center who wish to do so, will be able to carry out volunteer actions in various initiatives of said association.

February.

we will collaborate with United hands. This is a non-governmental organization for development (ONGD), of volunteers, catholic and secular. Among other activities we will participate in:

  • Solidarity book market, sale of agendas, calendars and t-shirts.
  • Participation in the VI edition of the Manos Unidas Clip Film Festival. Our Baccalaureate students, both in the Artistic Baccalaureate modality and in the Media subject, will make videos that try to raise awareness about inequalities and contribute to this initiative to eradicate hunger and injustice in the world. The motto will be: "Your point of view can change the world."
  • Conferences, talks and debates aimed at promoting solidarity and volunteering. From the hand of Inma Lorenzo, representative of Manos Unidas in Marbella, we intend to raise awareness among students in the construction of a better world.

Third trimester

We will collaborate with the New Moon Foundation of Coín which carries out an endless number of activities (solidarity dinners, solidarity races, drawing contests, collecting material to donate, etc.) with the aim of raising awareness and financing solidarity projects in Africa. His motto “It is always time to help others”, explains his objective well.

In addition to all these activities, we will also carry out the following solidarity actions:

  • Installation in the center of collection points for plastic plugs. These caps are donated to recycling companies that are exchanged for money that is given to children with very serious illnesses who need to pay for a treatment or operation.
  • Collection at our center of solidarity cents for the association A plate of food. An NGO that aims to feed the poor in India, aware that with 15 cents a person can eat in that country.

In addition, throughout the year, through the different Departments, there are presentations, debates and Power Point presentations by the Bachillerato students themselves on the social work carried out by other associations with which we collaborate regularly.
