On March 11, the students of the Baccalaureate of Arts and Image and Sound of the Colegio Alborán made an enriching visit organized by the Department of Arts to museums in Malaga with the main purpose of educating the gaze of our students to discover a new way of perceiving and feel the artistic manifestations.

Likewise, this artistic-cultural visit allows our students to broaden their knowledge in the fields in which we work from different subjects and departments while promoting artistic sensitivity.
We start the day by going to the Picasso Museum, to enjoy the temporary exhibition “The Paris of Brassaï; Photos of the city that Picasso loved”, which shows the work of one of the most renowned photographers of the 30th century, who with his work contributed to the elaboration of the universal image of eternal Paris, the city of light and shadows of the years. 40 and XNUMX.

The work of this artist from Hungary (photography, drawings, sculptures and books) is exhibited together with works by other artists such as Picasso, Bonnard, Braque, Clergue, Léger, Dora Maar and Michaux. In addition, we were able to contemplate with interest period films, posters, scores and abundant documentation.

Our students admired the more than 200 iconic images of the legendary photographer and prolific creator and learned a lot from this exhibition, which also reveals Brassaï's professional relationship and friendship with Picasso, who considered him the best photographer of his work.

We complete our itinerary with a visit to the exhibition “Solana and Romero de Torres. A history of Spanish art in black”, located in the Unicaja Foundation Cultural Center of Malaga in the Episcopal Palace of Malaga.
Said exhibition, which brings together more than one hundred pieces, travels through the pictorial universe of both artists, a true creative dialogue between the two, with the use of black in painting as the common thread and complemented with works by other artists such as José de Ribera, Murillo, Goya, Darío de Regoyos and Sorolla.

The exhibition, structured in eight sections, is made up of oil paintings, drawings, engravings, documentation, photographs and publications that delighted all the visitors.

In all the exhibitions, the visits were exceptionally presented by some very special guides: our Art Baccalaureate students.

On Thursday, October 2, the Image and Sound and ICT students of the 7nd year of Baccalaureate together with the Arts in Audiovisual Culture I attended a very interesting conference on music and technology, given by Álvaro Gutiérrez, entitled "Sound design and evolution of music technology.

It has been a close and pleasant talk, in which Álvaro has dealt with topics that are so in demand by young people and current ones, such as the necessary elements to produce music, do sound design or edit in audiovisual format.
Likewise, he has made a journey from the music producer prior to the 90s to the current producer, developing the main music production techniques today, something that interested all the attendees.

In an entertaining way and with practical examples, he has exposed the differences between a sample and a sequencer, at the same time that he has explained the history of the MPC, clarifying all the doubts raised.

One of the topics that has captured the attention of our students has been the role of the sound engineer in the creative part, opening up the musical world to people who don't know how to play instruments but can compose and create.
Everyone has been surprised with the explanations about music concepts such as size, color, depth or warmth of the songs, and with the discovery of sampling (which can become an art if used well) in many of your favorite songs.

With all this, it has resulted in an enriching conference for high school students, who have shown great interest and have actively participated. Read more

Our center has become a true museum in which works made by Early Childhood, Primary and High School of Arts are exhibited. The creations come out of the classrooms to flood the school and bring art to every corner.

Our 1st year of Arts Baccalaureate students have been inspired by great photographs from History, interpreting their own version of these.
Our young artists have masterfully recreated great works, offering us a wonderful walk through photography from different eras and authors, from the "decisive moment" of the father of photography, Cartier Brésson, to the present day.

In addition, together with the 6th grade students, they have also dared with movie posters of iconic films. They have recreated important and spectacular portraits, they have studied the fathers of photojournalism and staged some of the founders of the Magnum Agency.

For their part, the 2nd year Baccalaureate students wanted to exhibit in this exhibition the result of a stimulating and inspiring course in which they have worked on a wide variety of themes, techniques and supports.

A group of students who have experimented and deepened with different techniques such as watercolor, mixed media, inks or markers and their application in typography and object design, as well as the plastic interpretation of the narrative through collage. All this among many other procedures that we can enjoy in this formidable exhibition, where the artistic sensitivity of our VIII Promotion of the Baccalaureate of Plastic Arts, Design and Image is appreciated.

An ambitious project in which the Early Childhood Education cycle has also participated, which has investigated the depths of our oceans, to expose the discoveries of the wonders that inhabit them. The exhibition at our center is completed by a small corner created and flooded with dots, where the little ones at school have been integrated into the work of Yayoi Kusama. Following this idea, our students have also developed their own creations in class, using pumpkins and other elements.

All our students have surprised us with very original and varied final projects, showing great interest and enthusiasm in their realization.

To commemorate that yesterday we celebrated the International Museum Day, we want to share some moments of the master class offered to the students of the subject 'Fundamentals of Art', Mr. Fernando Francés, director of the Contemporary Center of Malaga since it was inaugurated in the 2003 until 2017, the year in which he joined the government of the Junta de Andalucía as general secretary of culture.
Fernando Francés offered his vision of the world of contemporary art to the students of the 2nd year of the Art Baccalaureate, placing special emphasis on the importance of choosing in life what makes them happy over any other less philosophical consideration.
The students were able to resolve doubts and listen in the words of Fernando Francés to the definition of contemporary art as an appreciation of the intangible favored by an acquired intellectual development.
In the conversation, the Prince of Asturias Award for the Arts arose, which has recently been awarded to the artist Marina Abramovic, who exhibited at the CAC Málaga in 2014 with a massive influx. The anecdote of the press conference prior to the exhibition caught the attention of the students, when Abramovic, when asked about her role as a woman in the art world, answered: "I am not a woman artist, I am an artist and spot. Art has no gender” Read more
