Our students of the 1st Baccalaureate of Arts, in Audiovisual Culture, and of the 2nd Baccalaureate, who are studying Image and Sound, have been inspired by great photographs of History and have interpreted their own version.

Our young artists have recreated great photographs in a surprising way, offering us a walk through the history of this discipline, from Cartier Brésson's “decisive moment” to the present day.

They have chosen the most important portraits, studied the fathers of photojournalism and staged some of the founders of the Magnum Agency (such as Robert Capa, Gerda Taro or David Seymour, among others).

Authors of Surrealism (Man Ray or Lee Miller), photojournalists and reporters have also gathered in this ambitious project, together with the most important fashion and celebrity photographers in Hollywood (Sid Avery or Bert Stern).

They have brought to our homes images that have gone around the world, such as Steve McCurry and iconic images of the Seventh Art.

All of them have surprised us with works very similar to the original photography, while they have participated with great enthusiasm.

Let's enjoy Photography from home. Read more

On January 23, our students from the Arts and Image and Sound Baccalaureate made an enriching visit that the Department of Arts organizes every year to different museums and exhibitions in Málaga.
The artistic-cultural visit to the capital of Malaga, which has become an essential event, allows our young students to broaden their knowledge and experiences in the fields in which we work from different subjects.

We start the day attendingor to the Center for Contemporary Culture The Thermal, to contemplate “Lee Miller Surrealist”, the most comprehensive exhibition on this internationally recognized photographer, photojournalist, Vogue magazine model and Man Ray collaborator.

Our students really enjoyed the 101 iconic images that are so representative that cover the career of this multifaceted artist who was also a correspondent in World War II.

We complete our itinerary with a visit to the “Sorolla tierra adentro” exhibition, located in the new Unicaja Foundation Cultural Center in Malaga. The exhibition, which includes 111 works by Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida, the greatest representative of Spanish impressionist painting, takes a tour of the artist's vision of Spain's landscapes and customs at the beginning of the XNUMXth century. A unique opportunity in which our students have been able to live and feel up close the brushstroke and the characteristic representation of light by the Valencian painter.

In all the exhibitions, the visits were exceptionally presented by some very special guides: our Art High School students Lucía Casado, Renzo De Ruiter and Adrián Lozano.

An extraordinary day whose objective has been to educate the look of our students to discover a new way of perceiving and feeling the .

One of the most interesting proposals that the students of the Artistic Baccalaureate have made during this course has been the recreation of important works of art. In them, they have used as a source of inspiration several professors who have acted as models and muses, whom they will surely recognize. In this magnificent project, the technical talent for drawing, the use of color and lace of our students is evident, as well as their knowledge in History ofArt, specifically in the artists Van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, Paul Gauguin, Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol, whose essence they have captured.

From the Department of Art we want to congratulate them and, of course, encourage them to continue working, because as Picasso said, "inspiration must find you working".
