Celebration of Saint Cecilia. 2018-19

The Music Department of the Alborán College has carried out various activities on the occasion of Saint Cecilia's Day, patron saint of musicians, in a day to enjoy and enrich ourselves with each chord and each melody that we share with others.

To begin with, our 5th and 6th grade students of Primary Education, as well as the 1st of ESO have offered a magnificent concert to their Primary classmates, who were delighted with the following performances:

5th year of Primary Education: All of me (John Legend) and Girls like you (Maroon 5).

6th grade of Primary Education: Flashlight (Jessie J) and The story of my life (One Direction).

ESO 1: Seven Years (Lukas Graham) and Imagine (John Lenon).

Our 3rd ESO student, Lucía Cruz, put an emotional finishing touch with her version of Leonard Cohen's Hallellujah.

The second appointment of the day led us to the Early Childhood Education classrooms, where the little ones had a great time with the hectic rhythm of the trumpet and the guitar in an activity directed by our teacher, D. Ignacio Loring. Music, as the universal language that it is, provoked joy and spontaneous dancing in our boys and girls.

To conclude, the Secondary Education students attended a motivating talk by the great artist D. Luis Landa Carrasco, who was able to convey to us with simplicity and sympathy his own life experience and improvement: there is no more disabled than the one who says "I can't do it ”. A meeting full of values and accompanied by sensational live performances.

Long live music!
