Talk about film with José Antonio Lucio. 2025-26
"Cinema saves us from boredom, connects us with other people and other worlds, and, like literature, allows us to live a thousand different lives."
On April 28th, the 2nd year Baccalaureate students, along with the 1st year Arts Baccalaureate students, had the pleasure of attending a very interesting talk about cinema, given by José Antonio Lucio, engineer and teacher.
In a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, José Antonio began his presentation with a video of Ethan Hawke on creativity, explaining what cinema means to him and asking the attendees how they understand it.
Furthermore, in a practical way, he spoke about the importance of creativity in any profession, highlighting that art saves us from boredom, "with culture we get through the days and forget about ourselves."
In this meeting, he encouraged young people to be curious, to explore other film genres, to discover different platforms, to go to the cinema and watch films from other countries, emphasizing that cinema transforms us into both spectators and critics, while also providing us with hours of conversation. “We are the sum of the films we have seen and that have left their mark on us.”
All in all, it has been an enriching conference (which everyone found brief) for the high school students, who showed great interest and actively participated.
