Literary meeting with Don Alfredo Gómez Cerdá. 2019 – 20.

Within the Reading Project of the Department of Language and Literature and in collaboration with the publishing house SM, on February 13 a literary meeting took place in our school with Mr. Alfredo Gómez Cerdá, a prolific writer with more than 25 awards, specializing in Children's and Youth Literature who has become a reference author.

Don Alfredo shared with the students of Secondary Education literary experiences of his works "Dímelo con los ojos" and "Con los ojos cerrados". The attending students, who had read these books for the expected appointment, were able to enjoy this meeting with questions about the works and his experience as a writer, while showing great interest in his work "The seven deaths of the cat."

The writer began his speech by talking about inspiration, with a very interesting reflection, stating that he "is inspired by two looks that he combines: one inward and the other outward."

He explained that the first deals with experiences, experiences and the inner world, "it is important to search within oneself to create an intimate and personal literature." At the same time, he added that the second look is also necessary, since we do not live alone. "The writer must be a great observer and always be attentive."

The author, whose works have been published in various countries in Europe, America and Asia and has 140 titles, knew how to convey the importance of documentation work, "something that is fundamental, not only in the historical novel."

In a dialogue meeting, he encouraged young people to enter literary contests, also advising them to read a lot, because that's how you learn to write. Quoting Gabriel García Márquez "the best school that exists to learn to write is reading".

This activity to encourage reading was a great stimulus for the development of the reading hobby, an enriching and enjoyable meeting, in which the attendees actively participated.
