Stand up to hunger. Talk by Mrs. Inma Lorenzo, Manos Unidas volunteer. 2016-17

Continuing with the activities planned in our Solidarity Project, Mrs. Inma Lorenzo has visited our center today to present to our students of Primary and Secondary Education the latest Manos Unidas Campaign against hunger. This year it is focused on food and food waste by rich countries. She tried to make all attendees aware of the waste that means that a third of food ends up in the trash when 800 million people are hungry in the world.

He offered a very interesting talk that encouraged minors and young people to be more supportive, explained the causes and consequences of this situation of injustice and speculation. In the words of this NGO "food is a right, not a business".

Likewise, we view photographs and videos to become aware of the situation of disadvantaged countries and the ways we have to help, something that our students already do, for example, by participating in the Manos Unidas Clip Film Festival, because "the world does not need more food, but more committed people.

Likewise, he dealt with the problem of the environment and pollution, which is turning our planet into an unsustainable place, and showed forms of sustainable and supportive consumption.
