ONLINE ADVERTISING WORKSHOPS

The students of 3rd and 4th of Secondary and of the two Baccalaureate courses have attended the workshop "The impact of advertising on the young consumer", organized by the Union of Consumers of Malaga with the aim of training responsible young people, especially in the field of consumption.
This interesting activity has been carried out electronically due to the current circumstances and has been subsidized by the Health Department of the Junta de Andalucía.
Said workshop has turned out to be a very stimulating tool, in which the resources and techniques used by advertising today have been explained.

Marián Pino Cueto, Head of Press and Communication at the Malaga Consumers' Union, explained to our students the resources that advertising currently uses, with specific examples of perfumes and products aimed at young people. He highlighted the value of the slogan, criticized the sexism present in the ads and the differences in gender roles.

Likewise, it projected very curious advertisements for different product categories (perfumes, toys...) and showed the changes that have occurred in times of covid.
Undoubtedly, it is essential to analyze the impact that advertising produces, especially on young people, if we want to create critical citizens, since this element of marketing lives with us on a daily basis and forms part of our thinking, while proposing guidelines for conduct. and social values. The elements of cultural identification are largely shaped by the culture of advertising, in which our students are immersed.

Marián, in a relaxed atmosphere, also informed our students of the new channels and media that advertising uses, as well as the most common sentiments to which it appeals. Two very complete workshops that also included explanations of subliminal and covert advertising in order for young people to learn to filter the stimuli they receive.

They have turned out to be two very enriching sessions to reflect on the persuasive power of advertising and its configuration in habits and perceptions in the youth environment.

THE INFLUENCE OF LITERATURE ON CINEMA

On the occasion of Book Day, the 6th grade students have carried out the project «The influence of literature on cinema». To do this, they have selected a series of well-known stories for children and young people, which have been brought to the big screen.
It has been a stimulating and educational activity, which has brought together different artistic disciplines, because after researching the biography of the writers of the chosen works, they have developed fantastic recreations of the movie posters.
The students of the 1st year of the Artistic Baccalaureate have been very interested in these recreations and have been the jury of the first film recreation contest.
The winners have been:
