Visit BIONAND. 2016-17

The 1st and 2nd year Baccalaureate students have made an interesting visit to BIONAND, the first center in Spain dedicated exclusively to nanotechnological research applied to Health. During it our students have been able to learn:

• The Nanoimaging Unit: Where they have seen how transition and scanning electron microscopes, optical microscopes (with and without fluorescence) and nuclear magnetic resonance equipment are used.
• The Cell Culture Unit where they have been explained the protocols for accepting cells that come from outside the Center, how they travel and how they are kept alive and in optimal conditions to be studied.
• The Chemical Unit, where they have seen one of the real applications of spectroscopy.
• The Histology Unit, where they have been shown how to process samples.
