Visit of Doctor Jiménez Cavadas. 2019-20
On December 12 we received Dr. Jiménez Cavadas, a cardiovascular surgeon who, now retired, has enjoyed a long and successful career. Among his achievements, he counts on having performed the first successful arm reimplantation in Malaga (the fourth in Spain) and the only heart transplant in our province.
During the meeting, our students got to know first-hand some of the instruments used in hospitals, such as vascular prostheses or arterial doppler. Likewise, he was also able to discover how technological advances improve our quality of life thanks, for example, to the different models of pacemakers. Finally, our students contemplated the particularities of the heart through a live dissection, carried out by such expert hands. This illustrious visit concludes the project that the students of 3rd and 4th grade of Primary Education have carried out during this term on the human body.
We want to thank Doctor Jiménez Cavadas for his presence in our classrooms, which has been a golden finish for a project in which we have not only learned about the human body, but also to care for and respect it. After all, he is the only one we have.
