Closing ceremony. Course 2016-17.

The Colegio Alborán has put the finishing touch to the current 2016-2017 academic year with the closing ceremony of Secondary Education and Baccalaureate.

The event, held last Friday the 23rd, was enlivened by the musical performances that some of our students had prepared for such an important occasion. Aitana Romero, from 2nd year of ESO, surprised us with a piano version of “Pirates of the Caribbean”, while Arina Shigaeva, from 1st year, masterfully performed the song “Hallelujah” on violin. Later, it would be our 2nd ESO student Ruby Ingram who would delight the audience with “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”. Finally, Carmen Pearson, from 1st year of Baccalaureate, delighted us with a brilliant piano performance of “L'Orange”.

For another year, a few minutes were dedicated to enjoying the projection of the best images of the trips that the Department of Extracurricular Activities has carried out under the motto "Learning through the pleasure of traveling".

After the delivery of the honorable mentions to the students who have excelled in any of the subjects or in the entire course, the 2nd Baccalaureate delegate, Paula Al-Farkh had some moving words of gratitude.

The closing speech was given by Mr. José Luis González Moyano, Technical Director, who wished success and luck to the students who are finishing their time at the center. Likewise, he thanked the work of the teaching and non-teaching staff and the involvement of families. In addition, he dedicated some affectionate words to all the students, and especially, to those boys and girls who "deserve a mention" for overcoming the obstacles that day-to-day life poses and who are often invisible to the eyes of others. .

After the ceremony, the party continued with a dinner in a very close and familiar atmosphere. During it, the family of our student Lukas Moerlen gave all attendees a delicious and original thank-you and farewell cake.

“To train happy, creative people with critical thinking in a natural and familiar environment, in order to be able to respond to the challenges of a constantly changing world.”
