4 ESO – Project depicting influential people in history. 2015-16

In groups the students choose a person from history that they felt had a big influenced on the way people thought at that time. They needed to look at how ‘freedom of speech’ allowed people to transform and change lives.

Each group researched, built up a profile of their selected influential person and through the use of keynote they designed their presentations. It was a very interesting, informative and inspiring session. Leer más

4º ESO – Voting for Class President. 2015-16

With our 4º ESO class we covered a sequence of lessons looking into different aspects within politics. Each student, took this new found knowledge to the next level by adapting what they had learnt to write their own political speeches, concentrating on one of the policies within government e.g. Defense, Education and Economy etc.

Once each candidate had delivered their campaign speeches the whole class had to place their votes. They needed to consider who they felt had delivered the best speech, taking into consideration quality of the research done for their policy, including a well structured argument with supporting material.

Votes were placed within the classroom ballot box and counted. The winner with the majority of the votes was Emma Mostovoi. So well done Emma, 4º ESO Class President!

Nottingham University. 2015-16

The school enjoyed a visit today from Mrs. Rachel Buckley the International Officer for Europe within Nottingham University, who gave a presentation to our secondary students about studying in the U.K.

Our students have a lot of future academic decisions to make, it can be confusing and overwhelming at times. We want to assist and support them within their decision process by ensuring that our students are well informed and aware of all third level options available to them.

During the course of the presentation, they were shown a little of what life would be like on campus, courses available and support which the university offers to its students studying from abroad. The presentation was followed up by a sequence of questions and answers with solutions sought for those students who had queries about procedures for applications, calculations of course points and fees etc.

All in all, it was a very successful morning and we would like to extend a huge thank you to Rachel for her very informative presentation and to our secondary English department for their ongoing activities within the school, supporting the students towards being comfortable in all areas of their English language development.

3º and 4º ESO working hard together on their Peace Day display.

Christmas stories told by our 4º ESO class

As part of our narrative section; within the curriculum and taking into consideration the time of year, we enrolled our 4 ESO class into writing some Christmas stories.

They worked so hard developing their plots and designed a book to incorporate the written text supported by pictures, graphics and illustrations. Their completed stories were delivered by the lights of the Christmas tree and the whole festive experience took place over a period of three sessions to involve all of our primary classes.

We would like to extend a huge congratulations to all of our 4 of ESO students who delivered a most wonderful display of their maturity, writing and computer skills and off course their English talents. Well done everyone!
